Have you ever dreamed of pouring your heart and soul out into a stadium full of people that are waiting to hear how you defeated your greatest adversary? Utonga Moore-Griffin, mother, entrepreneur, and child of God has dreamed such a dream a thousand times and has dedicated her life to sharing her story of how she achieved that victory.  However, at times, it has not been easy for her to imagine how her humble beginnings would pave a path to platforms that would motivate women and girls toward their dream. 

Through her Utonga Brand, Utonga encourages women and girls to use their pain as fuel to create beauty.  Utonga masterfully shares her truth about past struggles and the perseverance needed to overcome them.  Her faith in God and desire to help others inspires her testimony of self-worth, which produced the power she needed to gain prominence and purpose. 

Utonga’s unfiltered and genuine story appeals to people from all walks of life.  Without a doubt, this beautiful, courageous testament of power and praise will stir an unyielding desire to love yourself while pursuing your dreams relentlessly. 

Born in Washington, DC and the youngest of seven siblings; Utonga was teased by her peers about her stature and subjected to continuous verbal abuse while growing up.  This persistent barrage of verbal ridicule, causing her pain and fostered the development of a negative self-image.  Refusing to allow her spirit to be broken, Utonga used her pain to ignite her internal fire to discover her self-worth and serve as an inspiration to others.  Her mission is personal and its purpose necessary.  She chooses to answer the call on her life and challenge ladies for generations to come to conquer their fears, embrace their greatness, and create the life of their dreams, just like she has. 

Utonga’s most significant accomplishments are her two children.  She is a staunch supporter of academic excellent which is evident in the accomplishments of her children.  Partnering with administrators and staff to advocate for her children’s personal and academic success not only underpinned their confidence in academics, but life in general.  Her daughter graduated from the prestigious Hampton University, and her son is an honor roll achieving student at Hammond High School. 

Utonga’s life story is relatable and inspirational.  She is authentic and transparent.  Her story inspires her supporters and enriches the lives of the consumers of her brand.  She enjoys spending time with friends as well as worshiping God.  More than anything, she enjoys encouraging others, especially women and girls through women’s outreach.  Her life is an example of how we must enjoy life and live in the present while employing the courage to step out on faith toward more extraordinary endeavors.
